Welcome! Cotting School has been delivering highly specialized special education services since 1893. Rooted in a rich and innovative history, our staff and faculty use the latest tools and techniques to meet the needs of our amazing students and their families. Here, it’s all about community; our students are at the center of every decision we make.

Cotting caters to a unique and diverse student body. We focus on students’ skills, abilities and potential rather than their diagnoses. Through shared experiences and expectations, they have the opportunity to learn, make friends and fully participate in the life of the school. And for those in need of an external resource, Cotting Consultants brings our expertise to schools and districts throughout the state.

If you’re new to the community, you may have noticed someone mention “The Cotting Way”. It connotes a high level of respect and desire to collaborate throughout every level of our organization. We focus on meeting the needs of the whole. Most importantly, The Cotting Way refers to a sense of belonging and a community whose members are valued and challenged to be lifelong learners.
