At Cotting, the physical environment reflects the school’s philosophy: our facilities are completely accessible, bright and open.
Surrounded by wooded walking and biking trails, the main building contains 88,000 square feet of program space. Highlights include art and music studios; library and media center; a state-of-the-art adaptive technology center; dental and vision clinics; a four-bed medical center; occupational and physical therapy areas; and an outstanding auditorium. An accessible outdoor artificial turf playing field, a newly resurfaced playground and an indoor basketball court are among the recreational features. The campus also features Cotting’s post-graduate transitional residence; Carmichael House, which houses the Advancement Office; and The Mary Perry House, where the Transition Class is located.
Dear Members of the Cotting School Community:
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education regularly conducts a detailed on-site program review of Cotting School.
The most recent report, which was issued in July 2023, reviewed the following programs: Cotting Day, Cotting HOPEhouse Residential and Cotting Summer Day.
We invite you to review the DESE Report, which continues our approval as a private approved special education school. In addition, Cotting is accredited by the New England Association of Private Schools (NEASC). The NEASC Visiting Committee Report from our most recent accreditation visit, in March 2022, can be found here.
We welcome inquires about our school and hold monthly information sessions. Please feel free to call or visit us at any time throughout the year.
Sincerely,
