Cotting School Trustee Patrick Downes and his wife, Jessica Kensky, survivors of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing tragedy, have generously chosen to donate their two bib numbers to Cotting School for the 2026 race. By supporting Team Cotting School, you’ll help fuel opportunities that empower every Cotting student to build confidence, friendships and independence—both in and beyond the classroom.
Please join us in congratulating Holly Evans and Lisa Tuyen, who will be running for Cotting School in the Boston Marathon on April 20, 2026. As members of Team Cotting School, we will be supporting them and cheering them on every step of the way with:
I have always dreamed of running the Boston Marathon, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to run it this year in support of Cotting School, a school dedicated to providing life-changing education and care for students with complex learning and physical needs. I live in Rochester, NY with my husband, our son and our two dogs. My husband and I run regularly with a local running store, Rochester Running Company, and running has become an important part of our family life. I’ve completed two marathons and twelve half marathons, and I’m excited to begin training again this spring.
Professionally, I’ve spent my career in governmental accounting, which I hope will help me with budgeting and reaching my fundraising goals. Most importantly, I want to show my son that no matter what obstacles he may face in the future, he can work through them and achieve his dreams.

My name is Lisa Tuyen, and I’m proud to be running in support of Cotting School, an organization that makes a profound difference in the lives of students with complex learning, physical and communication challenges. Cotting’s mission, to help each student achieve their highest potential through individualized education and care, deeply resonates with me.
Running has always been a way for me to challenge myself, build resilience and stay grounded. Choosing to run for Cotting gives that effort a much greater purpose. Every mile represents not just personal determination, but also support for students, families and educators who work tirelessly to create opportunities where they might not otherwise exist.
By supporting my run, you are directly contributing to programs that empower students to learn, grow, and thrive in a nurturing environment tailored to their unique needs. I’m honored to run on behalf of Team Cotting and grateful for the encouragement and generosity of everyone who joins me in supporting this incredible community.
