A Message From Bridget Irish

Dear Cotting Community,

This week, the Federal Office of Management and Budgets sent a directive requiring all departments to pause payment of all discretionary federal loans and grants to ensure alignment with the new administration’s priorities. That directive was delayed by a federal judge later that day and, ultimately, rescinded on Wednesday.

This is unlikely to be the end of that chapter, so I wanted to take a moment to clarify the impact to Cotting School. Fortunately, we are not direct recipients of federal funding, and specifically do not receive any federal loans or grants. However, we are watching this news carefully because an abrupt change in federal funding would have a significant impact on the most vulnerable members of our greater community.

We continue to work closely with other special education schools, public schools and nonprofit organizations serving children in the Commonwealth to understand the implications of a potential change in funding and advocate for those who rely on this support for their care and safety.

Warm regards,

Bridget
