Founders Society donations to the Annual Fund enable us to meet the School’s operating expenses including items such as:

  • Math, literacy, and science curricula to serve our diverse learners
  • Transportation and job coaching for our Capstone students working two weekly Project Bridges jobs in the community
  • Equipment such as bikes for physical therapy, a 3-D printer for the Science classroom, and Smart-Boards, ChromeBooks, and iPads

The importance of annual giving is critical to the stability and ongoing operations of the School. Such support advances the School’s mission, ensures innovation and excellence, and enhances the maintenance and stewardship of the campus.

Honorees of the Founders Society

As pediatric orthopedic surgeons, Drs. Bradford and Thorndike wanted to give their patients the option to be well-educated and founded the School in 1893.

Charles Cotting was a trustee from 1922-1984 and the treasurer from 1927-1981. His careful fiscal management kept the School stable during the Depression and the years following.

Mary Perry served the School from 1893-1919 as the first teacher and later as Superintendent.

A graduate of Cotting in 1929, Dorothy Pace founded two successful businesses that hired only employees with special needs. Her generous bequest to the School created the Pace Assistive Technology Center.

Louise Marr taught at Cotting from 1935-1976. She instilled in her students a love of learning and the confidence that their disabilities did not define them.

The importance of annual giving is critical to the stability and ongoing operations of the School.
