From time to time, we share information with the Cotting community about fundraisers that are being held for Cotting families to defray expenses related to challenging circumstances.

Information Session
Cotting Parents! Do you have friends, acquaintances or folks in your community who would be interested in learning more about whether Cotting would be a good fit for their child? You can help keep our admissions strong by spreading the word about our monthly information sessions, now in-person! Visitors can tour our campus, visit our classrooms, talk to Cotting School professionals and learn about:
  • Cotting School - Day program for ages 3-22
  • HOPEhouse - Transition-focused boarding program for young adults ages 17-22
  • Extended-Year Academic Programs and Summer Enrichment Options
  • Cotting Consulting – Providing technology solutions for students in their school environments
  • All the new initiatives at Cotting School

Saturday, December 4
9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Cotting School alumni, students and their families are invited to join us for the first basketball game of the season—Students v. Alumni—at our state-of-the-art new Campus Center! Come to watch the game and stay to enjoy a special tailgate lunch, plus our Winter Wares Fair. And don’t forget to check out all of the new Cotting gear for sale at our school store (located right across from the gymnasium)! Click here for more details.
Please note that parents are responsible for their children’s eating needs during this event. Adapted eating equipment will not be available at this event.
Additionally, families will be responsible for supervising their children at the tailgate lunch. The following food will be available in the Cotting Family Courtyard and lower level of the Campus Center: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, turkey burgers, veggie burgers, Impossible burgers, grilled chicken, macaroni salad, potato salad and bottled water. If someone in your party has food allergies or special dietary needs, we recommend bringing lunch since we will not be able to guarantee allergy-free food.
Please RSVP by November 27 to Carly Churchill, Associate Director of Advancement, at cchurchill@cotting.org. By RSVPing to this event, you certify that everyone in your party is vaccinated. Consistent with our school policy, all guests will be required to wear masks indoors.
Save the Date: Cotting PTO Holiday Marketplace
December 6 and 7
What is the Holiday Marketplace?
For this annual event, the PTO transforms the Cotting auditorium into a well-stocked, affordable and accessible boutique to provide students with the opportunity to shop independently for gifts to give to family for the winter holiday they celebrate.
Parent volunteers help students with gift selection and wrap and tag the gifts the students choose. It’s a great opportunity to come together with other parents to create a meaningful and festive occasion for Cotting students.
Set up starts on Friday, December 3 – stay tuned for volunteer schedule and wish lists!
If your child has been vaccinated, please let Cotting’s Medical Department know so they can update their student healthcare record.
The Vocational Department Is Collecting Used Book Donations!
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please email Vocational Instructor Mary Beth Rogers at mrogers@cotting.org or Director of Transition Services Mike Teuber at mteuber@cotting.org to schedule an appointment to drop off your quality used books for student processing as part of work skills classes.

COMING TO THE SHRINERS: Huge Train Show Stops in Wilmington
November 20-21
WILMINGTON, MA — All aboard! Greenberg’s Great Train & Toy Show stops in Wilmington on Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 10am to 4pm, and Sunday, November 21, 2021, from 10am to 4pm at the Shriners Auditorium (99 Fordham Road).
Greenberg’s Great Train & Toy Show is the largest and longest-running model train and collectible toy show in the country. The show is geared towards the general public and towards modelers and hobbyists, featuring hundreds of tables of trains and accessories for sale, huge operating exhibits, activities for kids, and more.
The show features:
  • Hundreds of Tables of Trains for Sale
  • Dozens of Exhibitors from Across the Country
  • Huge Operating Model Train Displays
  • Free Workshops and Demonstrations
  • Free Test Track – Test Run Your Trains at the Show
  • Free Door Prize Giveaways
Adult Admission is $11 Saturday or $10 Sunday. (On-site ticket sales are cash only.) Kids 11 and under are admitted for FREE and do NOT need a ticket. Tickets can be purchased online HERE. Parking is FREE.

These events are open to families with children on the autism spectrum, with hearing or vision loss, or facing other developmental challenges. A medical diagnosis is not required. Any family who can benefit from a limited capacity visit is welcome at these events.
Please note: Food is only allowed at designated areas outside at this time.
These events are free, but pre-registration is required as space is very limited.

Music Makes Me Happy Chorus (including Cotting Alumni) Outdoor, In-Person Holiday Performance!

We are excited to be a part of the Concord Tree Lighting Event :
  • Our Chorus will be singing at 58 Main St. in front of the Visitor Center from 3-3:45
  • Following our performance is the parade to the tree lighting and carols on the common
  • Shopping and entertainment will continue until 6pm
Fun for people of all ages and abilities – all are welcome!
*Rescheduled* Online “Open” Autism and the IEP – A Workshop for Parents of Children/Teens with Asperger/Autism
December 16th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, $25
Join AANE Child & Teen Services for a workshop with Q&A for parents and guardians on the ins and outs of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with Asperger profiles. Learn what our staff look for when conducting IEP reviews. Topics will include autism-specific considerations for the concern statement, evaluations, SMART goals, the service delivery grid, transition planning, and more. This workshop is not Massachusetts specific.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:  For programs and events that require a fee, financial assistance is available, and no one will be turned away for inability to pay. REGISTRATION: Advanced registration is required. After you have registered, a confirmation email is sent with a link to attend the program. Registrants who do not receive the confirmation email should check their email spam folder. Registration closes 24 hours prior to the event or first session. Early registration is highly recommended as many programs fill quickly.
