Parent Weekly Update: August 6, 2021

Weekly Update
This week during Amelia’s in-house job, she took pictures to share on social media. Amelia’s classmate, Elizabeth, was assembling hygiene kits to deliver to local area shelters and food pantries. Jordan was working hard with Ms. Birmingham in the fitness center, and Amelia thought Ms. Arnst’s class looked like they were having lots of fun in adaptive physical education! Thank you for your help, Amelia; we love the pictures you took!

Free and Appropriate for All: Putting Students First
As you know, we are honoring all our families by designating the courtyard in our new space as the Cotting Family Courtyard. With your gift to the courtyard, your family name will be listed on the plaque. If you have not yet contributed to the capital campaign to make this possible, now is your chance! Gifts of any sizes are welcome and all will make a difference. Our goal is 100% participation, and the deadline for the courtyard plaque is August 31. Click here to make your gift.

Sensory-Friendly Days with Mass Audubon:
In order to continue making nature accessible to all, the Mass Audubon Society has launched a series of Sensory Friendly Days at sanctuaries throughout Massachusetts for Summer 2021.
  • During these times, you can visit when properties are closed to the general public or tend to be relatively quiet.
  • Some sites will have special hikes with nature guides available to recommend appropriate trails and guide your experience, while others provide self-led opportunities.
  • You can also find All Persons Trails at many of these sanctuaries. These trails feature wide, flat, ADA-accessible paths connecting parking areas to the wilds of nature.
