An evening of celebration brought together members of Cotting School’s premier giving society, the Founders Society, for an event to thank Cotting School supporters and to honor two members of the Cotting community for their outstanding service to our Cotting School students and Alumni.

Honoree, Dr. Richard Jamara receives watercolor paintings by Cotting School students, from Cotting President, David Manzo.

Cotting School’s Seamark Vision Clinic Honoree
For the last 8 years, Dr. Richard Jamara, has supervised our weekly Seamark Vision Clinic at Cotting School and offered topnotch vision services to our students, alumni, staff, and members of staff families. He has also welcomed students with special needs from the greater community to receive the same services as part of our Vision Clinic Outreach Program.

Retiring this June, during his 8 years at Cotting School, Dr. Jamara has supervised a total of 72 New England College of Optometry seniors and provided them with mentoring and clinical experience unavailable anywhere else before they graduate from NECO and move into the job world.

Richard Collins receives Cotting’sinaugural Community Partner Award from Cotting President, David Manzo.

Cotting School’s Inaugural Community Partner Award
Richard Collins has given countless hours of his weekend time over the last 8 years to enrich the lives of Cotting School Alumni. On his own initiative, Rich Collins started an alumni basketball team that meets on Saturdays to practice and play the sport they enjoyed the most while students at Cotting. It has been enormously popular and the program has grown to now serve more than forty alumni, each Saturday all winter long.

The Road Runners, as they are called, LOVE being able to continue to play basketball after graduation, and our seniors are reassured to know they can continue playing after they leave Cotting. Female alumnae say they love how Coach Rich supports “Girl Power.” Another loves that Coach Rich calls him “a scoring machine.” Our alumni love being able to stay connected to their Cotting friends this way; AND they have FUN while getting exercise all winter long.

Congratulations and Heartfelt thanks to both Dr. Richard Jamara and Richard Collins on each of your outstanding accomplishments and for being such an integral and important part of the Cotting community. Remember…Once a Falcon, Always A Falcon!
