Patrick Downes, Cotting’s newest Trustee and David Manzo, President, Cotting School visiting the Project Bridges Office at Cotting School.

The Trustees of Cotting School are pleased to announce the election of Dr. Patrick Downes to the Board of Trustees.

Patrick has a rich history in the field of special education. Prior to the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing, Patrick was employed at a MAAPS Member School, working to support students with special needs. His longtime interest in the mission of Cotting School resulted in his Opening of School Address to staff members in 2016 and most recently a Keynote Address at Cotting’s annual Burr Family Conference in November 2017.

Recently, Patrick and his wife Jess, worked with the United States Congress on the Jessica Kensky and Patrick Downes Act which will make Walter Reed Medical Center available for victims of acts of terror that occur in the United States.

We are proud to add Patrick as a Trustee and confident that he can help us amplify our message of quality education for ALL children with special needs and act as a liaison between Cotting and other groups that serve individuals with disabilities.
