National Disability Employment Awareness Month

October 11, 2017

Cotting School is proud to join the United States Department of Labor to celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October!

The Office of Disability Employment Policy explains that “NDEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and educates about the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents.”

“Americans of all abilities must have access to good, safe jobs,” said U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta. “Smart employers know that including different perspectives in problem-solving situations leads to better solutions. Hiring employees with diverse abilities strengthens their business, increases competition and drives innovation.”

At Cotting, we celebrate our students’ vocational opportunities with the hope that they too will bring value to the workplace beyond Cotting.  Each week in October, we’ll feature a Cotting student whose achievements we think deserve to be celebrated!

Check out this year’s theme, “Inclusion Drives Innovation” in the poster, and visit the links below for more resources!
