The State House was buzzing last Friday as the Massachusetts Office on Disability hosted the their MOD Summit, with the focus on Employment Opportunities.
The purpose of the summit, according to Director David D’Arcangelo, is to ” inspire leaders, advocates, and persons with disabilities to continue the conversation around employment opportunities. Successful employment outcomes foster dignity, self-determination, and independence, which are goals at the core of MOD’s mission.”
Cotting President David Manzo was one of the featured speakers, as Cotting has always been a place focused on vocational opportunities for students. Listen as he talks about former student Dorothy Pace, and her preparation for the world of work as the result of her time at Cotting:
The days’ speakers are pictured below left. On the right, each attendee was provided with a Cotting history book! We are very proud to be a part of this successful day at the State House!
