William Fahey, a former student at Cotting School, joined the MUSE foundation as a drummer in the band called “The Next Big Thing” in February, 2017. Founded in 2016, the Music, Unity & Social Expansion (MUSE Foundation) is a nonprofit organization located in Boston, MA, comprised of small group ensembles that practice together each week. The mission of MUSE is to promote and foster social connection through music. Each small group ensemble (six or less students) is facilitated by a music director and at least two musical assistants. MUSE firmly believes in the power that music can have in building camaraderie between peers. Students of all abilities are welcomed and accommodated.

MUSE band members have just been offered a chance to play at the SOMA (Special Olympics MA) Hall-of-Fame ceremony event on Thursday, June 8, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 Harvard University’s Gordon Indoor Track. Several Cotting students will compete in the games again this year, and Cotting will also staff a hospitality tent for the second straight year!  Check out the photos from last year’s hospitality tent, and be sure to visit all of the great Special Olympic Events that weekend!
