The Zones of Regulation® is a curriculm designed to foster self-regulation and emotional control, created by Leah M. Kuypers, MA Ed., OTR/L. Cotting implemented the program as a pilot last year and it has since been adopted by several classrooms ZONES posters (much like the image below) can also be found on display around the school! Solar Energy at Cotting School!

Cotting School’s solar energy system is now in operation!  More than 1,350 panels have been installed on our campus, generating power that will ultimately help us control our long-term energy costs. With a continued commitment to using our resources efficiently, Cotting School contracted with IGS Solar, a turn-key commercial and residential solar provider.   IGS Solar financed, owns, and operates the system (364 kW total size), which is designed to meet 62% of our annual power needs.  Solect Energy was responsible for installation and will manage ongoing maintenance of the system. For Cotting students enrolled in our Extended Year Program (July 11 – August 12, 2016), SALSE is one of several terrific program options to choose from.  SALSE (Summer Adaptive Living Skills Experience) has been a consistent, popular choice for Cotting students in recent years.  The SALSE experience will help students with social and communication skills, personal care, mobility, home living skills, money management, nutrition and meal management, shopping, vocational, and leisure skills.
