Julianne Sullivan has been selected as the 2016 Cotting Fellow. She has worked at Cotting School as a program assistant and classroom teacher. A licensed educator in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Julianne received her B.A. cum laude from Bridgewater State University. She will begin her studies in July 2015 at Bridgewater State pursuing a Master’s of Education in Special Education- Severe Disabilities. At graduation on June 5, Cotting was fortunate to host Robert DeLeo, MA Speaker of the House, who delivered a heart-felt welcome address. Introduced by his Winthrop neighbor and Cotting senior class member, Austin, Mr. DeLeo spoke passionately about the importance of educating students with special needs. The audience of over 200 that packed the Cotting Auditorium for commencement exercises heard Mr. DeLeo explain how his passion fuels his daily work. June 5 drew together the families of 13 Cotting School students, members of the Cotting faculty, the Board of Trustees and special guest MA House Speaker Robert DeLeo for the graduation ceremony for this year’s graduating class.
