Alumnus Brendon Hildreth Discusses Accessible Icon Project On Monday, September 23, 2013, Alumnus Brendon Hildreth, Class of 2010, returned to Cotting to talk with students about his work with the Accessible Icon Project. Brendon has been instrumental in installing the icon in various locations, both in his home state of Massachusetts and his new home in North Carolina. As part of his visit, Brendon presented Mr. Manzo, President of Cotting School, with a Red Sox baseball (Mr. Manzo is a lifelong Yankees fan). Please read more about Brendon’s presentation.
Cotting School Partners with Birthday Wishes Cotting School recently forged a new partnership with Birthday Wishes, an organization that provides birthday parties for homeless children. Cotting’s Mary Perry House is now the headquarters for their “Birthday-in-a-Box” program for the Boston area. Upper School students in our vocational work skills program, like those featured above, shop for supplies, package partyware, assemble goody bags, bake cupcakes, wrap gifts and birthday boxes, and deliver prepared boxes to shelters with Cotting staff, volunteers from the community, and Mary Heveran, who is the “Birthday-in-a-Box” coordinator for the Cotting site.
