Fritz Klaetke is holding a grammy award that he won on February 10th for his graphic design of the Smithsonian’s CD collection titled “Woody at 100: The Woody Guthrie Centennial Collection.”Congratulations to Cotting parent, Fritz Klaetke! On February 10th, he won the Grammy for his graphic design of the Smithsonian’s CD collection titled “Woody at 100: The Woody Guthrie Centennial Collection.” In the past, Fritz has worked on a number of Woody compilations, but this was his first nomination for the Grammy for Art Director for Design. It was also the first time The Smithsonian won for one of their recordings.

Luckily, Fritz and his wife, Susan Battista, caught the last flight from Logan to Los Angeles on Friday before the snowstorm. Susan says “getting the award is just like it is on T.V. The paparazzi are all there, there is a party afterward, and it’s a very exciting 12-hour day.” Justifiably proud, she says, “This is not a fluke. Years of hard work have gone into this award.” Susan credits Fritz completely, but we can guess her partnership and support had a lot to do with it as well. Congratulations!
