Thursday, September 3 dawned clear and bright, ideal weather for the first day of school. It was also perfect weather for the inaugural student outdoor soccer game on the new artificial turf Connelly Field! Adaptive Phys Ed teacher Dan Cuddy, who originated the request for an accessible field for outdoor sports, organized students in multi-age teams to play in a school-wide soccer match. Cotting Races on the Charles

Sunday’s glorious weather promised a fabulous morning of racing on the Charles in AccesSport Amerca’s regatta, and Cotting students were there to enjoy it. From L to R, the team included Sara, Kathleen Cuddy, Austin, PT Team Leader Ginny Birmingham, Adaptive PE teacher Dan Cuddy, Tom Cuddy, Reggie, Cyrus, and Duncan Shea. The team practiced paddling onshore, then took to the water, cheered heartily by friends and family members. Everyday Heroes: Policemen visit Cotting

Five officers from the City of Waltham Police Department and the State Police visited Cotting on July 8th to speak to Lower and Middle School students about their jobs as part of this summer’s theme, “Everyday Heroes.” They spoke of the routine matters that come up in their work, as well as the increasingly difficult situations that make their jobs somewhat more complicated than they were even five years ago.
