About Us Information for prospective students and families

What can you offer my child?

Cotting School offers students ages 3 to 22 (and older students in HOPE House, our postgraduate program) a wide variety of programs to meet their individual needs.

No matter a student's particular challenges to learning, Cotting focuses on each student's strengths and designs a plan to build upon them. The ultimate goal is to maximize each student's potential, leading to the highest degree of independence possible.

Faculty and staff evaluate each student's learning style, including assessing whether learning disabilities are moderate to severe; consider if the student possesses physical or medical challenges requiring specialized therapeutic and academic programs and closely monitored classroom settings.; determine the nature, if any, of communication needs that may require adaptive equipment and experienced teachers; and recommend other services, including social skills building and vocational training.
